Right in the heart of Oakland’s revitalized downtown, Caffè Verbena occupies a sunny corner of the APL building at 1111 Broadway. The interior space enjoys a cherry-wood paneled dining room, soft lighting, colorful fabrics and warm accents. An open kitchen and twenty-stool bar complete the experience.

Just outside the restaurant proper, the Atrium, with floor-to-ceiling windows, affords views of the comforting Zen Garden. This oasis is comprised of a grassy courtyard surrounded by a waterfall, stone benches and a contemporary urban sculpture.

The restaurant, Atrium and Zen Garden are all available for private functions of every kind. In addition, Caffè Verbena also features a cozy outdoor patio and spacious lobby area, ideal for smaller cocktail parties or larger events, respectively. The menu features seasonally changing cuisine with a California-Italian flair. Influenced by Northern Italy, our Chef, Andres Mena, has created a rustic and satisfying menu that will please all palates.
